Grief Encounters

Apart from yoga teaching I am active in supporting ‘Grief Encounters’, a charity which is very dear to my heart. It supports bereaved children who have lost a parent or sibling.

“We help families address a multitude of challenging issues following the death of a loved one, alleviating the hurt and confusion caused, whilst promoting healing.”

The charity supports the children and their families by running workshops and visiting schools to create awareness. I have hosted yoga events and fund raise for the charity.

I also support the charities of My Yard and Choose love. They are detailed below.

My YArd

My Yard reduces food waste by rescuing food from surplus and shares it with those most in need locally via community cafes and surplus food markets.

As founder Rachel Diamond  explains “ My Yard was set up to counteract social isolation. If people can be lifted before they dip too far, it’s important.

Social mobility relates to the movement of individuals, families, households within or between social status relative to one’s current social location within a given society.

“Creating connections over food has proved essential”

Choose Love - Help Refugees

A pioneering new movement in charity that provides emergency aid and long term solutions where they are most needed.

It goes where the need is greatest. Choose love fill in the gaps and act where others won’t. It could mean providing food and safety, search and rescue boats, secure long term housing. Since 2015 Choose Love have supported over 120 incredible projects.

“They have fed the hungry and housed the homeless, and there are people living now thanks to them who would otherwise be dead”

Food

“Cooking is not a chemistry, it is an art. It requires instinct and taste rather than exact measurements”
Marcel Boulestin 1878-1943

I absolutely love food and I want to share with you some Greek recipes I cook.

My approach to cooking is very intuitive. Coming from a Greek Cypriot background where cooking and eating has been a big part of my life, I want to introduce the dishes I have grown up with during my family time spent in Cyprus and holidays in the Greek Islands.

A few years ago, I ran a detox delivery food business and it was then that I learnt the skill to cook with great speed and precision without the use of scales but rather a throw, mix and stir approach.

In addition to my yoga teaching, I am also researching for a cookery book in which I plan to collate all my favourite Greek recipes that I have enjoyed with my family throughout the years.

Stay posted for future recipes.
